MIRAGE COMPATIBILITY:
Reel Yaks kayaks are compatible with other manufacturers drives e.g.: Mirage. Be aware that there is some minor adjustments required to ensure compatibility that you will need to undertake. Other manufacturers e.g.: Mirage use a slightly shorter drum shaft pin, that is slightly wider and it is place slightly higher on the drive. This can be a 10 minute job depending on the route you take.

Here is what you need to do to achieve compatibility:
Pedal Locks: Our cam-lock pedal locks will accept the slightly wider and shorter shaft pins. However you can also buy the Lightening click-n-go locks ($90 pair) or get the Mirage original pedal locks ($120 a pair), the screw spacings for these are interchangeable with ours.
Spacer: as the shaft pin sits slightly higher on the drum you will need to lift the pedal locks to accept the new drives by adding spacers under pedal locks. This can be achieved with washers or a plastic (nylon) spacer sheet (5/16″) with the holes drilled for the pedal locks.
Screws: you’ll need 4 screws for the pedal locks that are 5/16″ longer.
